since 1936. The local lodge currently maintains two training facilities in Ramsey, MN, and Mandan, ND.
Since opening on June 1, 2001, the Ramsey training center has seen 370 apprentices undergo training. The Mandan facility, built in 2009, launched its first class in January 2010 and has become essential to both apprentices and journeymen throughout North Dakota. It has seen 85 apprentices go through the program since opening its doors top training two years ago.
Local 647 also hosts upgrade classes at its training facilities and has seen more than 100 journeymen brush up on their skills and has plans to train another 100 to 150 journeymen as time allows. Both training centers are also used for OSHA and MSHA safety training courses.
Currently, 160 apprentices are using the facilities on a regular basis for a wide-range of training opportunities.
